I love this story. I really do. The truth is, I wasn’t sure I had anything to say about vampires. No, that’s not true. I said for years I had nothing to say about vampires right up until I did.

This tale is dark but romantic. It delights in gore in the way you’d expect vampires would. There’s a lot of physical action as well as sexy action and what’s best? It’s the first of three. At least three. This arc is three. If it’s real popular, you never know.

Most of these vampires are ancient. The predate Christians and so they do not follow the same rules as the traditional vampire does, save exposure to sunlight and beheadings. The sire or master is a Spartan vampire but there is an interesting cast of characters including a transgender vampire, a druid, ancient Egyptian, all across the globe. It’s a really interesting mythos and it tackles some of the ideas that I’d always wanted to see. It’s lurid, graphic, and lyrical. I’m really proud of it.
